1. What is it that motivated you to work with engagements and weddings?

Seeing true love through a lens has always inspired creativity in us. We have a passion for turning moments into memories and helping our couples relive this most treasured time in their lives through photography and video. 

2. How long has Verola Studio been creating wedding content in Indian river county?

Verola Studio was officially established in 2004 but Vic and Marina have been photographing weddings for over 25 years now.

3. Which locations have been the most popular for proposals? Weddings?

Our county is truly a treasure for weddings and photography locations. There are so many beautiful spots all around, but our waterfronts are just incredible and are the main draw. Whether it is on the golden sands of the ocean shore, or overlooking the gorgeous lagoon from Riverside park, these locations are perfect for our couples who want to capture a perfect moment. There are a few stunning parks and venues with all the oak trees and lush greenery for a whimsical look. We really have it all in Indian River County!

4. What is usually the biggest challenge when shooting/editing romantic content?

Lighting is always the biggest challenge anytime we create content, after all photography is literally capturing light. Knowing how to craft the perfect photo involves knowing exactly how to control and shape the light to fit the story we are trying to tell. Another challenge is the weather for any outdoor weddings and sessions, especially with how unpredictable it can be in Florida. But over the years we have always found ways to make things work and capture beautiful moments for our couples.

5. What advice could you give to anyone considering a destination wedding here?

Consider the time of year and the weather. We’ve had couples visit in cooler or dryer months to return for their wedding in the hot or rainy season. Needless to say, it was a different experience so it’s best to visit and book for the time of year you are familiar with. For beach weddings especially, it’s very important to keep sunset times and time change in mind when planning the day and sending out save the date cards. There are many challenges that might come up when planning the timeline of the wedding day but we work very closely with our couples on creating the photo timeline of the wedding day that works in the best way possible.

6. What are the biggest trends and styles that are developing in proposals or weddings in 2021?

We are seeing more and more of the smaller intimate weddings and elopements. In Vero Beach, we have seen many beautiful new venues offer that. The “micro wedding” trend that started last year has definitely taken over and let many couples enjoy a great wedding celebration with their closest family and friends. 

7. What does Indian River County offer that makes it stand out from common venues?

Indian River County has that small-town charm, but still has such a great selection of venues and vendors that we truly believe make us stand at the top of the pack as a dream destination for a special day. Also, our beaches are the best! We really find it amazing that our relatively small area has so many different wedding and event venues that can cater to any taste. You can plan a perfect celebration in any style, from an elegant country club or an upscale beach resort to the most charming celebration under the oaks with a country feel. IRC has it all!

8. Do you have any advice for a newlywed couple?

The main advice for any couple planning a wedding is to enjoy every moment and remember what this big day is all about. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the planning and let the stress get to you. Hire a team of wedding professionals whom you can trust and let us make those moments last a lifetime. The day passes so quickly and memories fade, so don’t sweat the little things. Delegate during the planning process and the day off and enjoy every second of celebrating the start of your new married life together! Each wedding is unique, large or small, and each leaves you with the most beautiful memories you’ll cherish forever.
